As summer is in full swing, it is important to keep your children engaged, and productive to the best of your ability. There is a lot that you can do to get them active and spend more time together as a family. Here are some unique ideas!
CAR PICNIC- Have each family member, take a turn to pick a restaurant or pick a meal you can make at home. Eat outdoors somewhere in your car or outside of it! Find a place that might be in nature or enjoyable to sit in to optimize this experience. This is a good way to get out of the house and give your children something to look forward to.
I CAN'T IMAGINE LIFE WITHOUT - have your child create a circle and divide it into 6 spaces. Have them fill in each space with something they can't live without and decorate the space to match that thing. For example: if it is traveling, they may draw an airplane. If it is family, they may draw hearts or something that reminds me of their family. This will get your child to be creative, and think about what they are appreciative of in their lives.
STORY TIME - Choose 3 words, and then have your child choose 3 words. Then try and draw a picture that incorporates all the words that you have both chosen. Afterwards, come up with a story do describe the picture, and tell each other the story. This encourages your child to be creative and work collaboratively.
The most important thing is to make sure you are still spending time doing things with your child that you both enjoy as well as practicing and modeling self-care. Take some time to be active and stay on a schedule as much as you can this summer!
HAPPY SUMMER!!!!
