Friendship Groups are for boys and girls in kindergarten, grade school and middle school who have difficulties in relationships with other peers and in various social interactions. Friendship Groups are broken into two age groups: approximately 5-7 years old and 8-11 years old. Many children who have joined our groups have various struggles with anxiety, ADHD, Asperger's Syndrome and more.
Each group will be limited to 6 children and will involve role play and group activities covering but not limited to the following topics:
Nonverbal communication (eye contact, reading facial expressions, personal space)
Role playing for positive social interaction (approaching children socially, communication/give and take of social interactions, social problem solving)
Labeling emotions and coping with negative feelings (such as anger management, impulsivity) and self esteem building
Assertiveness/standing up to bullies, and levels of friendship.
